Stewards of God’s Grace
Verses 7-11 The end of all things is at hand; therefore, be self-controlled and sober minded for the sake of your prayers. Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies – in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To Him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen
Quite often I need to be reminded that we have been given much by our Father in Heaven and that we need to be thankful without grumbling, but also that we need to take care of what He has given us. We should find much joy and comfort in knowing that Christ, His Son, would suffer and die for us even though we deserve punishment and death. Let us also be encouraged to be in prayer for on another so that the gifts He has given us would be used to glorify Him. We who are God’s chosen have a great hope in knowing that the trials and tribulations of this world will end some day and that in there is an eternal home that waits for us, but in the meantime let us “love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our mind, with all our strength, and love our neighbors.”
In Him in whom we gain our strength,
