Dear friends, family, and supporters in America,
Greetings from Jinja, Uganda.
Yes, this is another Jinja greeting, but, unlike the last few times, it is a greeting from Jinja after a month of work in Karamoja. We came back to Jinja to celebrate Easter with our friends and complete some mandatory work at the immigration office in Kampala. We’ll be back in Karenga in a couple days.
Shortly after sending out my last newsletter, we arrived in Karenga and dusted off our old lair. Actually, there wasn’t much dusting to do. By calling ahead, our landlord had the place swept and mopped in preparation for our arrival. After nine months in storage, the Bergers and I found all of our possessions still secure under lock and key with the place just as we had left it. Considering some of the corners in Karamoja, that says a considerable amount about our landlord and neighbors.
